Jim Fox, a member of our Wall of Fame,
was one of the more familiar faces around the club. Unfortunately, he
lost his battle with cancer in May, 2005. During his life, Jim
took
pride in his beloved Westfield Golf & Country Club and
continually came up with ways to promote our club and make it a better
place. In his honour, we continue to challenge our members to
complete
his work.
Jim felt it was a member's duty to
improve the condition of the course by replacing divots, fixing ball
marks, using the sand buckets on the tees, avoiding wet areas with
carts, etc.
In his honour, we have divided the
membership into 18 different groups. Each group is responsible for
one hole. For example, if your name appears beside number 3 below,
this is your hole for the year. Take extra care to fix ball marks on
greens, replace divots in the fairways, rake sand traps, pick up debris,
etc. If
everyone concentrates on one hole the condition of the whole course
should improve. In Foxy's spirit, let's see how we can make a
difference.
Find your name below and take pride in
your hole. See if you can help to make it better than the other 17
holes. ......... Jimmy always liked a friendly challenge!
